At 29 I finally decided to follow my dream of working on volcanoes! Here are some of my experiences and lots of photos of the incredible places I am lucky enough to work in.

Bad luck!

Today Ivan arrived. I swear he is a machine. He texted at 5.30 this morning to let me know he had arrived and he’d see me in the morning. 2 and a half hours later, just after I’d decided to get up, he texted saying he was waiting in the lobby! A machine.

His luck still hasn’t turned, and although the journey itself went well, his bag is missing! Carlos called the airline for him, and they have no idea where it is! Honestly, with the luck he’s having I’m beginning to think I should leave him behind when I go into the field! Anyway, needless to say we spent the day shopping for him and getting some field equipment including tents – the only ones we could find were kids adventure tents, which we’ll be using at 4000m altitude! Could be interesting especially if it snows or rains!! Ha ha!

Then after a lunch of tacos, we relaxed a bit…

Ivan..... Carlos...

Before discussing the science.
