This morning it didn’t look too bad from Colima, so we decided to set off back up the volcano. We found a fantastic section with lots of units so ended up spending most of the day on that. By the time we finished, the clouds were clearing and the top of Nevado was in blue skies and sunshine. By this point my fingers were painful from the cold. It was baltic.

We decided to take up the offer of staying in the hut. Carlos drove part of the way, until it became really dodgy, then waited for one of the civil protection guys to drive the rest. Ivan and I walked up to where we could see Volcan de Colima. It looked absolutely beautiful with the setting sun. We were taking photos and posing in front of it, when it erupted again! This time, we were higher up. Absolutely awesome!
